LLC, a division of the Waltham, Mass.-based contractor, is scouting Louisville for a 135,000-square-foot distribution center where it would store Army training equipment.
At the site, Reston, Va.-based Raytheon Technical Services would manage procurement, technical repair and upgrades and modifications of the equipment. The company also would perform some research and development activities there.
Details of Raytheon's potential plan were announced during a meeting today of the Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority in Frankfort.
The proposed Louisville facility would assist Raytheon Technical Services as the company works to fulfill terms of a 10-year, $11.2 billion government contract.
If Raytheon moves forward with its plans for Louisville, its warehouse project would create 45 new jobs, with an initial investment of $1.6 million, according to company plans.
Another 55 jobs initially would be offered to Hardin County workers who had been managed by Pulau Electronics Corp. in Radcliff under a previous government contract.
The 100 total jobs would have an annual payroll of $4.3 million.
Raytheon Technical Services received preliminary approval from the KEDFA board for $1.5 million in state tax incentives for up to 10 years for the Louisville project.
