Raytheon Louisville Receives Diversity Award
Raytheon Co. received an award Thursday from the U.S. Department of Labor recognizing the company's workplace diversity efforts.

The Waltham, Mass.-based defense contractor, which employs more than 350 at its Louisville facility at the Airport Industrial Center, received the 2007 Secretary of Labor's Opportunity Award, the federal government's highest award for contractors.

To receive the award, companies must demonstrate through programs or activities a commitment to enhancing opportunities for employees of diverse backgrounds.

Raytheon chairman and CEO William Swanson and director of compliance Management Tanya Lewis accepted the award from U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao at a Washington ceremony.
