The 1920s saw the first use of round, leaded-glass lighting fixtures equipped with a chain for hanging, to advertise Coca-Cola. Constructed of red, green, and white curved glass, this shade has the following words stamped into the metal band separating the "crown" from the body of the shade: "Property of The Coca-Cola Company to be returned on demand." It was made available to bottlers and retailers as an advertising piece for Coca-Cola.
