Give and Take. Haddon Sundblom's Santa from 1937 marked one of the only times that we'd see Santa eat. At this time, Coca-Cola wanted to remind their customers that Coca-Cola was every bit as refreshing at home as it was at restaurants and soda fountains. Having Santa stop by and find a refrigerator full of Coke was a gentle reminder that the holidays are a perfect time to serve Coke at home.
